My future job

As a student of my second year of university I feel it’s too early to say with certainty what my future work will be, but I believe that as social work students we know that there are many areas in which we can work to contribute to a social transformation because we are in a society with too many problems that need to be solved. Among these, one of the most called my attention is the penitentiary system in Chile, I think it is a big problem and, above all, very complex. this is why I would like to approach this problem from differents areas.

I think it is very necessary for Chilean society to see the multiple dimensions of crime and in this way eliminate the punitive gaze that has been had for so long, I also think it is necessary to think policies and programs from the reintegration in order to decrease the cycles of criminal recidivism.

Within this same problem I think it’s fundamental improve the conditions of overcrowding and overpopulation in which people deprived of their liberty live.

Finally, I believe that is necessary a complete work that mixes research and the creation of policies and programs with the most direct and closest work.
